The Mantuary on Steroids
If you want even more proof that The Mantuary is taking off, look no further than Garage Town USA. This company provides storage space for your high-end toys including cars, boats, jet skis, RVs, or whatever else you can think of storing offsite in a “Private Storage Condominium”. These units are bought and sold like homes and spare no expense in providing amenities such as cable, internet, thermostats and club houses. A far cry from The Mantuary’s humble beginnings in the garage bay of my house, but a perfect solution for those who have recently down-sized, have a vacation property with nowhere to store their adventure equipment, or for those who really want to retreat to their Mantuary to get away from it all. Many of these have already been converted into personal pool halls, rec rooms, sports bars, and gyms by their owners. The price tag is hefty (anywhere from $68,000-$200,000), but if you’ve got the cash and don’t have any space in your current home it can ultimately be cheaper than adding on to your existing property. The only question I have is if the guy featured in this NY Times article is really named Michael Hunt?
