15 Things Better Than An Ugly Tie: Bayou Classic WingRack
As far as BBQ and Grilling gadgets go, the Bayou Classic WingRack is one of my favorites and definitely some of the best bang for your buck. I haved used this rack on the grill multiple times and have always been more than happy with the results. It leaves the skin crispy and the meat moist, which makes the chicken legs I cook on it absolutely delicious. I always spray the rack with a little Pam before loading it up which makes cleaning it afterwards a breeze. I also put a little foil or drip pan underneath to catch the drippings during the cook- prevents flare ups and keeps the bottom of your grill a little cleaner.
The rack should always be used with indirect heat on the grill. You can accomplish this by pushing the coals to one side, which also allows you to use the extra space to grill additional items at the same time. I usually foil up some chunks of potatoe with olive oil, salt, pepper, and chives/thyme for some good eats, letting them cook underneath the rack next to the indirect coals. It takes about 30-45 minutes to grill chicken legs on the rack, but since you don’t have to worry about turning them during the cook you’re free to worry about other things, like your kids.
Six notches on either side of the rack hold chicken legs, while special notches across the middle can secure your wings. Made of durable stainless-steel, the rack measures 13-3/4 by 5-3/4 by 6-1/2 inches and is dishwasher-safe. A definite must-have for any grilling enthusiast.
