Memorial Day: Time For Smoking and Grilling!
Well, The Hen finally took notice to the garage space I recently took over with 30 bags of lump charcoal. To be honest, her reaction was pretty anti-climatic. It just goes to show how dulled their senses can become when they come to grips with your Mantuary and all it stands for. I remember a day she flipped over my Memorial Day Sale purchase a few years ago…
And now, she barely batted an eye at this…
One thing she did ask me was, “What are you going to do with all that stuff?” Seeking an answer, I escaped to The Mantuary, did some ciphering and came up with the following.
My most recent acquisition is enough fuel for:
- 240 hours of grilling time on my Weber Kettle. That’s 10 days or 1.5 weeks of continuous, nonstop grilling.
- 690 hours of smoking time on my Weber Smokey Mountain. That’s 5.7 weeks or 1.3 months of continuous smoking.
- 180 hours of smoking time on my Meadow Creek. Since she can hold 250 lbs of meat at a time, I can cook over 2 tons of pork butts for 12 hours!
- 1440 hours of smoking on my Primo. That’s 60 days or 2 full months of continuous cooking!
This is going to be a great summer!
